Description
It is the dramatic documentary story about that famous king named Arthur. Arthur is a legendary British leader who led Britain in the Middle Ages against campaigns that wanted to invade Britain at a difficult time. Arthur is an officer in the cavalry of the Roman army, as well as the Knights of the Round Table who defended Hadrian's wall against a group of rebellious Britons. It is the story of a king who was able to defend Britain against the Saxon invaders in the late fifth century.

A brash departure from the legend that retains the round table, but that's about it. Still, the contemporary echoes make the Dark Ages relevant again and the movie, while longwinded in parts, overcomes its shortcomings.

A title card says this King Arthur, grimly directed by Antoine Fuqua, is based on the latest research into the mythic past. Maybe so. But one can't help thinking the research that really counted was that into the more recent box-office charts.
