Maniac - Season 1
Description
Through a chain of parody and dramatic events, the series takes after two people, Annie and Owen, who are pulled in to a cryptic pharmaceutical starter that will, they're ensured, with no complexities or side effects by any means, handle the dominant part of their issues, forever. Things don't go as masterminded a they discover their lives flip around.

Maniac is just showing off from the first scenes. Like the man said, it insists upon itself. I felt just as trapped in Fukunaga's oppressively bespoke universe as Annie and Owen are in theirs, and I'm pretty sure that's not the point of the series.

"The combination of hubris and idiocy is inconceivable," says Sally Field's character in one scene. I couldn't have described the show better myself.
