It just doesn't offer enough original fodder to lure us into a 10-episode binge.

The overly-familiar plot is just an excuse to place a bunch of bonkers people in an idealistic but bizarre location. "Reckoning" is a drama and not an action thriller that plays it straight even when it's playing with us and outlier ideas.
