That dialogue was so rich and meaty and it's a big part of why I look forward to this show every week.

It felt as if we got a very clear picture of the two of them and all of their failings, both just a little bit afraid the other might want to give up on the other, even after all they had been through to get this far. It was beautifully moving.

[Alison's] entire walk in the woods with house owner Robert where she comes to these realizations is wonderfully written and acted, and this... elevates the Alison half of the episode to genuinely compelling.

If this episode was packed with anymore symbolic lessons learned it would literally have just been live-feed of a fortune cookie for 56 minutes.

Episode three of this season is the first time I felt like The Affair had anything thematically meaningful to say about love, divorce, and relationships.

Let's also take a moment to appreciate Julia Goldani Telles's comedic spoiled-brat excellence here, as she winds up with the best lines of the episode.

Watching this week's episode, I had a realization that made me respect the show's commitment to depicting subjective truths on a whole new level.

The episode benefited from the jolt of energy and humor that Julia Goldani Telles, as Whitney, always supplies.
