Brigitte Nielsen was born Gitte Nielsen on July 15, 1963 in Rødovre, Denmark. In 1979, she moved to France, then Italy, where she began her modeling career. In 1984, Italian producer Dino De Laurentiis hired her for the lead in Red Sonja (1985) with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The following year, she met Sylvester Stallone and, in December 1985, married him. Meanwhile, she shot three other films: Rocky IV (1985), Cobra (1986) and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), directed by Tony Scott, with Eddie Murphy, Paul Reiser and Chris Rock. In July 1987, Nielsen and Stallone divorced, and she recorded an LP called "Everybody Tells a Story" and sang "Body Next to Body" with Falco. In the 1990s, she made quite a few films, including 976-Evil II (1991), Fantaghirò 2 (1992) and its sequels, The Double 0 Kid (1992), Chained Heat II (1993), Galaxis (1995) with Sam Raimi, Compelling Evidence (1995), She's Too Tall (1999) with Corey Feldman and George Hamilton, and Doomsdayer (2000). In recent years, she has become interested in the music world, doing a duet with drag-queen RuPaul, "You're No Lady" (2002).
