One year older and wiser, Dexter’s living the good life. He’s come to terms with who he is and has perfected the delicate balance of work, family and his deadly extracurricular activities. Along the way, Dexter receives spiritual guidance, Deb struggles to settle into a new job, and a serial killer makes a surprising reappearance.

There's a point at which Dexter's secret crime spree has become almost comically routine.
