What's going on? No idea, but the first episode has done an excellent job of creating a setting and character for the story to flourish.

What makes this show so good isn't the naturalism of the dialogue, the easy progression of the mystery, or the inventive use of close ups and overhead shots. What makes Keeping Faith "must stream tv" is Eve Myles.

Myles is hugely watchable, having one of those expressive faces that dominates the screen and holds the attention.

Those who missed out are heartily encouraged to give it a whirl. Why? The premise of the thriller is simple enough.

[Eve] Myles is fantastic in the title role, mixing boldness and vulnerability, verve and remorse as she searches for the reason behind Evan's disappearance. If "Keeping Faith" kept her from quitting acting, that alone justifies its existence.

On screen Welsh noir is picking up the baton from knackered old Scandi noir. Keeping Faith... is its flagship.
