Description
The fifth season begins strongly through a series of criminal events, where Bobby returns to work and things will be fine. On the other hand, Gina still has not officially announced her plans but after thinking about seems she will accept James' proposal for marriage. On the other hand, 'Bobby' and 'Andy' look at a shooting incident during a burglary of a bar and the suspect will probably be a man discovered by Bobby and Andy, was a mixture of drugs and alcohol at those times.

The characters have so much definition and integrity, and the milieu is so fastidiously conveyed, that NYPD Blue doesn't seem to be stretching for sensationalism, only reaching for realism.

Thankfully, Smits and Franz are superior TV actors who are able to make this buddy-buddy pledge of allegiance into something both crowd-pleasing and not excessively maudlin.
