The filmmaking on display is top-notch and equal to most studio feature films but the story doesn't quite click. Maybe it is the non-linear storytelling and flashbacks that prevented me from connecting with the story more consistently.

The storyline is involved, but keeps a viewer off-balance in a good way. It looks great. And Mother... is the most memorable female/female-like space entity since Sigourney Weaver's Ripley in Alien.

There's no doubt that Raised By Wolves is uneven, but the six episodes provided to press held my attention all the way through, and for all its faults it's jam-packed with lofty notions to ponder and gloriously soggy action to enjoy.

It's a show that throws concept after concept at the wall, though in Scott's seasoned hands, the vast majority of them stick, setting the stage for one of the most interesting sci-fi shows in years.
