The future episodes last season showed Mia and William were interesting and layered characters and those scenes really pay off having them with Oliver and it shines here.

Arrow focuses on family drama over Crisis buildup this week, and that's okay.

This character-driven piece was successful in its attempts to reflect, while also managing to move the pieces on the chessboard in a somewhat unexpected direction - setting the stage for an even more interesting second half.

The show's sense of history and constant grappling with Oliver's past actions is one of its hallmarks, and that feeling is even stronger in the final season, which is indeed hitting all of the greatest hits. This was strongly felt in tonight's episode.

"Prochnost" smartly used Anatoly to dig into Laurel's morality and her continual journey toward the heroic, one that has been surprisingly fulfilling, even as it's been characterized by more fits and starts than the path of others.
